Definition
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that views the mind as made up of distinct “parts” and a central “Self,” aiming to harmonise these internal aspects. It helps individuals understand and integrate conflicting or wounded parts of themselves, promoting emotional balance and self-leadership. Sessions typically involve guided dialogue with internal parts, mindfulness practices, and reflective exercises to explore and heal internal conflicts. The goal is to develop self-awareness, internal harmony, and emotional resilience through understanding and integrating all parts of the psyche.
